The process of a Re‑establishment survey includes:

Searching historical survey documents
A field survey
Calculations using current survey and historical surveys
The boundaries can then be marked on the ground
A Plan of Re‑establishment must be prepared and submitted to Land Use Victoria as per Surveying (Cadastral Surveys) Regulations 2015 - Schedule 4, Regulation 16
